Denbighshire
Denbighshire in the North-East of Wales has evidence of the earliest habitation in the country. Pontnewydd has neanderthal remains from the Paleolithic era, some 225,000 years ago. Castles include Denbigh, Rhuddlan, Ruthin, Castell Dinas Bran and Bodelwyddan. Closed by coast to the North and hills to the South, East and West famous for their Bronze and Iron age Hillforts ready to be explored.
